Model Comp Card: Tips to Stand Out

Creating a standout model comp card can be a challenging task, especially if you’re not a graphic designer. But don’t worry, NVE Agency got you on how to make your comp card stand out. And here are the essential tips:

Research Online

Before creating your comp card, it’s essential to do your research and determine which brands and agencies you want to work with. Your comp card should be tailored to the same styles as the brands and agencies you want to partner with.

Look for comp card designs that catch your eye and consider if the images will look good with the layout. Pay attention to the color scheme, and overall design aesthetic to make sure it meshes well with the brands you want to partner with.

Choose The Right Photos For Your Model Comp Card

Choose high-quality images that showcase your range and versatility as a model. Consider including a mix of full-body shots, headshots, and other images that highlight your unique features. Also, consider wearing clothes from the brands you want to work with to look like a natural fit for them.

What Should Be On A Model Comp Card?

Your comp card should include your name, contact information, and measurements. This typically includes height, bust, waist, hips, dress, and shoe size for women. For men, it’s generally:  Height, chest, suit size,  shirt size (collar and sleeve) pants, shoes, hair, and eyes.

Select The Right Size Cardstock For Your Model Comp Card:

The standard size for a model comp card is A5, which measures 8.5” x 5.5”. Don’t try and get cute with a different-size comp card as agencies won’t like this.

Creating a modeling comp card is an important step in launching your modeling career and attracting the attention of agencies and clients. Showcase your best qualities and present yourself in a professional and visually appealing manner. Remember to choose high-quality photos that demonstrate your versatility and range, and ensure that your comp card accurately represents your current abilities.

With a well-crafted comp card, you‘ll be one step closer to making a lasting impression in the modeling industry.
